Retroscreen appoints Ian Meikle as Business Development Director

Retroscreen Virology Limited, a global leader in anti-viral research, clinical trials and experimental challenge studies, is pleased to announce that Dr Ian Meikle has been appointed Business Development Director with immediate effect.

Ian brings to Retroscreen over fifteen years of business development experience within the CRO industry and has held senior appointments with several  leading global preclinical and clinical research service providers. Ian’s role will be to further raise the profile of Retroscreen as the world’s leading provider of virology contract research services as well as developing the depth and breadth of the company’s client base.

Ian began his career as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow with the Imperial Cancer Research Fund Medical Oncology Unit at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh where he was involved in the screening and evaluation of a novel series of Anthracycline derivatives. He then joined Inveresk Research (now Charles River Laboratories) in a business development role to promote the expansion of the Phase I business. Following a subsequent appointment with the Quintiles Oncology Group, he was appointed to Head of Business Development for Europe and Asia-Pacific with ClinTrials Research. Ian then spent over 5 years at PharmaNet where he was part of a very successful team expanding the business within the European operations division. Most recently he has been Director of Global Key Accounts and Group Head for business development in the UK and Scandinavia at Global clinical services provider Kendle International.
